The client commissioned a custom farewell gift for the director of the Design District: an LED lamp modelled after a flagship building on Greenwich Peninsula (This is also the building we are located in!). The lamp was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, featuring accurate colours and textures to match the original building.
Creating this product was a collaborative effort among fellow Design District tenants, as listed below. We utilised the technical drawings and assets provided by architect David Kohn to develop a 3D-print-ready model of the building. The model was designed for easy access and replacement of the light element.
We collaborated with the lighting company Haberdashery to design a custom 3D Printed diffuser to evenly distribute the light from the bulb inside the model. The windows and diffuser were 3D printed using a translucent PLA material to create a soft and warm glow.
To ensure authenticity, we meticulously colour-matched the model using the RAL colour system to replicate the original building’s green hue. The model was then hand-finished by our in-house artist and assembled with precision.
The client was delighted with the LED lamp, which has since become a centrepiece in their home interiors.
We are an award-winning 3D Design, 3D Printing and Finishing studio founded in 2016 and based at the Design District in North Greenwich.
